About Class

Dress Code

-Students must dress appropriately for class.
-No shorts or jeans.
-No student is allowed to take a class with out shoes.
-Long hair must be secured.
(Buns, Ponytails and French Braids are encouraged.)
* Please note that you may wear any shoe that still fits from the previous year, however, you will need to have the shoes below for our recital.
Ages 2-6 year olds must have a Tote Bag with their name on it!

Class Description

*Class Descriptions are a guideline. 

*Ages for each class are approximate. We try to place our students by age as well as years of experience and maturity.

Creative Movement is a pre-recital class to help prepare the students for when they are 3 years old or older and ready to participate in the recital. They learn basic classroom etiquette, such as taking turns and following directions. They also work on rhythm, timing, hand and eye coordination, hand and foot coordination, skipping, the difference between hopping and jumping, as well as ballet positions of the body and beginner ballet steps, etc.

Petite 1 is a 1-hour-long class for 3 – 4 year-olds consisting of 20 minutes of Tumbling, 20 minutes of Ballet, and 20 minutes of Tap. They will perform one routine in the annual recital. 

Petite 2 is a 1-hour-long class for 4 – 5 year-olds consisting of 20 minutes of Tumbling, 20 minutes of Ballet, and 20 minutes of Tap. They will perform one routine in the annual recital. 

Petite 3 is a 1-hour-long class for 5 - 6 year-olds consisting of Ballet, Tap, and Pre-Jazz. They will perform a ballet and a tap routine in the annual recital.

Combo 1, 2, or 3 is a 1 ½-hour long class consisting of 30 minutes of Ballet, 30 minutes of Tap, and 30 minutes of Jazz. They will perform three routines in the annual recital. 

Intermediate is anywhere from 1 ½ to 2 hours long, consisting of Jazz, Lyrical, and Tap. They will perform three routines in the annual recital. 

Advanced is a 2-hour-long class consisting of 30 minutes of Stretch, 30 minutes of Jazz, 30 minutes of Lyrical, and 30 minutes of Tap. They will perform three routines in the annual recital. {They may perform in 2 recitals} 

Hip Hop is a 45-minute-long class and will perform one routine in the annual recital. 

Ballet Technique is 1 to 1 ½ hours.  A structured class to build strength, flexibility, and alignment, starting with barre exercises, then moving to the center for combinations.  This class is a required class for Dance Force members; however, all students with dance experience may take this class, provided there is enough room. This class will not participate in the recital. 

Leaps & Turns Technique 1 ½ to 2 hours.  A focused dance session that includes warm-up, stretch, targeted drills, and progressions to master skills like pirouettes and grand jetes, usually set to jazz, lyrical, or contemporary styles.  This class is a required class for Dance Force members. However, all students with dance experience may take this class, provided there is enough room. This class will not participate in the recital.
